Received a letter from 3 soldiers who were leading camp followers away from the war – they are starving and need my help. I went and they were indeed in bad shape – sick, starving and they had been without water. One soldier is older, the other 2 younger – came from a disbanded regiment. They are staying at the farm with me. The soldiers are wanted when a fourth stole from a town/village while they were fleeing and although that soldier was captured, they are all now considered bandits.
Mellona killed a Thardan who was in contact with the Orbalese. She is now hiding in the town by my farm with Marta. Her maid has just been sent there. Leona is looking into investigation by “officials”. And checking on Mellona.
